He that will not sail ’till all dangers are over
must never put to sea.
I’ve dreamt of owning a sailboat and venturing out into the open ocean since my first sailing voyage in 2011. That’s four and a half years ago now, which is almost 20% of my life. That time has flown by way too fast! There’s never a perfect time to buy a yacht. But for me, with nowhere and nothing in particular roping me down in early 2016, I just saw my window and took it!
Spearfishing very quickly replaced guitar as my new passion. I would spend hours scouring blogs and forums trying to learn the ins and outs of the sport, begging anyone who would listen to take me diving. Spearfishing has lead to more amazing experiences and beautiful people than I could have ever imagined possible for an entire lifetime.
Now 24 years old, it has been a busy seven years in Brisbane with study, a great career, a few relationships done and dusted, plenty of learning and growing, with countless amazing adventures in between. I finished the law degree, reached the top of my career at Adreno as Marketing Manager, and then finished an Advanced Diploma. You may have guessed already, but I’m not one to sit still for long – I’m impatient at the best of times and will finish a sentence for you if you pause too long… Bad habit!
So this is my next challenge. An investment in my personal knowledge and skills, but also an adventure. Following a dream I’ve held for 20% of my young life – to own a yacht, learn about sailing, navigating, renovating, electronics, engines and more – and just see where it takes me.
I’m glad to have you along for the ride!
